Ballarat running legend Steve Moneghetti's reign as Australia's Commonwealth Games chef de mission is officially over.

Champion swimmer Petria Thomas was on Tuesday announced in the role for 2022 in Birmingham.
Moneghetti filled the position at three Commonwealth Games - Delhi in 2010, Glasgow in 2014 ands the Gold Coast in 2018.
The high profile role is broad with political, promotional and operational functions.
Duties include being a primary spokesperson for the team.
Thomas is the first female to hold the position.
"I have big shoes to fill. I've been lucky enough to be on the team alongside Steve Moneghetti and he did a terrific job and I've learnt a lot from him over those years.
"I hope to be able to bring my own style and my own experience to the role," Thomas said.
Thomas was a three-time Olympic gold medallist, including the the 100m butterfly in Athens in 2004.
